The CNC Training Academy, the UK’s premier CNC training organisation and part of Mills CNC, has appointed Hannah Walby to head up its business development operations.

Previously employed at the CNC Training Academy since 2013 as training administrator, the promotion will see her co-ordinate and implement the Academy’s new business strategies.

The business development position is of critical importance and will help the Academy achieve its ambitious growth plans in the future which are multi-faceted and which include: raising the profile of the Academy with UK and Irish precision component manufacturing companies; promoting the Academy’s comprehensive range of standard, advanced and specialist CNC Programmer training courses to potential customers; positioning the Academy as a strategic training partner to those companies looking to address their own in-house skills shortages by investing in proven, professionally-delivered and cost-competitive Fanuc, Heidenhain and Siemens CNC Programmer and Operator training.

A significant percentage of Hannah Walby’s time will be spent visiting manufacturing companies throughout the UK and Ireland to discuss their training needs and requirements.

She comments: “The CNC Training Academy is successful. Ever since it was created back in 2010 year-on-year sales have grown exponentially.

“However, 55 percent of turnover derives directly and not surprisingly from Doosan machine tool sales.

“There is a huge opportunity therefore to grow business with non-Doosan machine tool users who are using machine tools with Fanuc, Heidenhain and/or Siemens controls.

“With an already excellent reputation in the market combined with the Academy’s experienced and dedicated team of trainers and state-of-the-art training facilities, I am confident that we can and will achieve great things.”

Hannah Walby’s new role is part of the Academy’s wider expansion plans that will also see the organisation further expand its CNC training capabilities by increasing the number of training rooms available at the Mills CNC Technology Campus and appointing new CNC trainers to meet the anticipated increase in demand.
