Headland Machinery brings waterjet cutting versatility and value to AUSTECH

The Austech show will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 9-12 May and is Australia’s premier advanced manufacturing and machine tool exhibition.

On stand 555, Headland Machinery Pty Ltd. will showcase the versatility and high precision cutting capability of the MAXIEM® 1530 abrasive waterjet with an A-Jet cutting head. As an effective alternative to conventional machining operations, abrasive waterjet cutting provides an efficient way to process parts from virtually any material and a wide range of thicknesses with no heat-affected zone.

Austech attendees will be able to experience first-hand how MAXIEM waterjets are easy to operate. The Intelli-MAX software that controls MAXIEM and OMAX waterjets requires no special programming skills and can be learned in just a few days. Online training for machine and accessory operation and maintenance is provided free, so customers can access training information whenever they need it and at their own pace.

In addition to being easy to use, Intelli-MAX software is compatible with more than 90 different file formats, including all major CAD program file types, plus graphics file formats such as .jpg, .gif, and .png files. This means almost any 2D or 3D part file can be imported directly into a MAXIEM or OMAX waterjet controller and turned into a real part.

The MAXIEM 1530 waterjet at Austech will be powered by an energy-efficient 40-hp MAXIEM direct-drive pump. Unlike many waterjet pumps on the market, this direct drive pump features variable frequency drive technology, allowing for continuous pressure adjustments during operation for precise cutting control. MAXIEM direct drive pumps are also quiet and easy to maintain.

There are eight table sizes available in the MAXIEM waterjet product line and an extensive range of accessories, so they can be configured to meet the cutting needs of any business, including multi-axis and high capacity production. At the show, the MAXIEM waterjet will be equipped with an A-Jet multi-axis cutting head that can cut beveled edges, angled sides and countersinks.
