Nine machine tool export orders worth over £1.4 million to produce diesel fuel rail components have been won by Mollart Engineering. The two-spindle versions of the DrillSprint machines ordered, each having similar basic specifications, were taken by the Chessington-based company against intense European competition of which five will go to Romania, three to the Czech Republic and one to Germany.
Sales director Ian Petitt says: “The manually loaded machines are similar in specification based on our proven DrillSprint design, each incorporating a fail-safe loading device. They will be used to gundrill various holes from 7 mm to 11 mm diameter and from 300 mm to 600 mm deep.”
The orders follow a record multi-machine order worth over £5 million earlier in the year from a single North American automotive industry customer for nine special purpose deep hole drilling machines. In addition, further orders worth over £1.5 million were taken for three, eight-spindle special purpose deep hole drilling machines from a European customer for producing ranges of holes in pellet dies for the food industry.
